A daily skin care routine is also essential to protect and take care of your skin. The skin care regimen need not be elaborate or complex, it can be simple and basic so you can do it regularly. Remember if you take care of your skin, your skin will take care of you. And you will feel and look gorgeous and beautiful.

Here are the basic steps to care for your skin. Use this as a guide and tailor-fit it for your own needs. Remember to use products that are right for your skin type.

  1. Cleanse. You need to clean your skin at least twice a day to remove dirt and prevent skin irritations like acne. Find a mild cleanser that is right for you and that your skin responds to. Wash your face with warm water then apply the cleanser. Make sure to rinse thoroughly afterwards. It is important that you cleanse before going to sleep. This routine is same for the body. Cleanse your skin in the bath and shower with a cleansing product formulated for the body. Rinse with warm water and finish up with a dip or splash of cold.
  2. Tone. Toners remove remaining dirt after cleansing. It also freshens and tightens your skin. Choose a toner that is alcohol-free to prevent drying of the skin.
  3. Exfoliate. Exfoliants and scrubs remove dead skin cells and rejuvinates the skin. Exfoliate once a week to have youthful and radiant skin.
  4. Moisturize. Moisturizer hydrates the skin. Moisturize daily unless your skin is too oily or have acne. You need to moisturize when your skin feels tight. Don't over moisturize as this will clog your pores and cause skin problems. The moisturizer should be applied to the face in upward strokes. Apply to the body in gentle strokes, applying the most moisturizer to your belly, chest, calves, thighs, and forearms.
  5. Protect. Wear a sunscreen even on cloudy days. Sunscreen prevents sun damage which causes wrinkles.
